Bought a Hook and Ladder Truck – July 25, 1883

On July 25, 1883, the Village of Almont ordered a new Hook and Ladder Truck from C. G. Carleton & Co. for $375.00.

Prior to 1881, the only firefighting equipment owned by the Village of Almont was a hose cart, which was not in very good condition.  On July 25, 1883, the Village ordered a Hook and Ladder Truck from C. G. Carleton & Co. for $375.00.

At the time of this purchase, the Village did not even have a fire department or a place to store the equipment.
