On June 17, 1904 the Almont Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star was initiated by Past Patron W. E. Brown as deputy, assisted by Mrs. Eva Newberry of Romeo a Grand Marshall and Mrs. Grace E. Brown of Lapeer as Chaplain with the following Charter Members:
