William C. Baldwin purchases Property – October 17, 1832

On October 17, 1832, William C. Baldwin bought property in Section 10 of what is now Almont Township.  Section 10 is on the north side of Dryden Road between Howland Road and Kidder Road and south of Hollow Corners Road, which was to the west of James Deneen’s homestead.  He was living in Macomb County at the time of the purchase.  He appears to be on the 1840 U. S. Census in Hadley, Michigan, so he did not stay in the township for very long.  What he did with the property is not known.
