Sadlers Purchase the Almont Times-Herald – April 1, 1957

On April 1, 1957, Thomas A. Sadler and Nola J. Sadler purchased the “Almont Times-Herald from Eugene Little, who had owned the newspaper since 1948.

Mr. Sadler worked as the editor of the newspaper.  If you lived within Lapeer County, an annual subscription was $2.00.  If you lived anywhere else, a subscription was $2.50 a year.

In the 1960’s, the Sadlers purchased both the “Emmett Express” and the “Capac Journal”, which were both edited by Elmer R. Warren.  The Times-Herald was expanded to include the news from Emmett, Capac and Dryden.  Shortly after the name was changed to the “Tri-City Times”.

The “Tri-City Times” was sold to Martin N. Heim and Delores Z. Heim on February 27, 1980.
