On May 15, 1803, Almont’s namesake, Juan Nepomuceno Almont – was born in Vecupetaro, Mexico.  NOTE: Almonte’s name was used to create a unique name for the Township and Village.  Almont is NOT named for Jaun Nepomuceno Almonte.
